Books from California to Sarangani

Ten boxes of assorted books and educational materials from the Jefferson School District in Daly City, California were distributed to four elementary schools in Sarangani Province.

Elaine Francisco, a teacher at the Franklin D. Roosevelt School, together with her colleagues, put these boxes of books together for shipment to Sarangani. LBC generously agreed to ship these boxes for free.

The books were donated to Maribulan Elementary School and Alabel Central Elementary School in Alabel; P.H. Millona Elementary School in Lun Masla, Malapatan, and Hadji Musa Elementary School in Kapatan, Glan.

The teachers and principals of these schools were happy to receive the books and materials. They look forward to using the materials as teaching aids in their classes. They have asked their students to take good care of the books so that they can be used by other children in the coming years.

The generous donation of books and teaching aids will help improve learning among our students.  The storybooks will help enhance reading and comprehension while the teaching aids and textbooks will bring the class topics to life.

The Alcantara Foundation thanks its friends and partners at the Franklin D. Roosevelt School, the Jefferson School District, the American Federation of Teachers and LBC USA.
